Freewrite: Dude…thoughts inside my head.

Published by one6 under Uncategorized

Thoughts in my head as we talk by IM:

Why do you have to leave it up to me? Why, when you are the one who has all the feelings of hate toward me, you expect me to choose what is going on in our future? I  mean yes I guess you’re probably just saying you don’t care so you can see what I have to say. So I told you. Now what? You haven’t replied back….hello! That’s the point write me back so I know were we stand. O my….dude! Answer me and tell me what you think. I don’t have time to play guessing games. I’ve told before, I’m done with all the drama. Cut the___ and just say it straight up. Are we cool or what? Oh great, you’re still going back to this? Why do you have to bring her up all the time. Yes, at that point in my life you were there but then you left me right after you helped me for only what….a few weeks? Whatever dude. Ahhhh, come on get it in your head we both messed up! Just stop it already. Just decide what you’re going to do! Name, I’m, like, waiting. Look 9 months of my life come on, do we really have to continue this roller-coaster through out high-school too. Oh jeez, Name! Look I’m done don’t care done waiting and this is it. Just say what you have to say and get over it. I don’t care if it hurts and if you can’t hurt me, whatever. Just tell what we are going to do so this can be over. If you want I’ll forget you, if you want I’ll erase you….trust me that won’t be a problem. Dude! Oh okay. That’s what it is. It’s done. Cool beans, good luck and have fun with whomever you….whatever. Dude, I have no hard feelings just, whatever. I mean I still care but it’s not like don’t have other friends and people who won’t screw it up. Not to be mean, but I’m cool, whatever. So…see you around and good luck…knowing you you’ll need it. Bum…I’ve been through this so many times with you…..we’ll be back at it again sooner or later, whatever. Peace, love and war, my new poems of you are just like all the ones before. Whatever and thanks because now “I’m starting a new verse like poetry”- Danity Kane helped me for that one! Bye and whatever and evers! Faker!

Freewrite Poem: ‘Wateva’

Published by one6 under Uncategorized

‘Wateva’

Now look at you.You don’t have to say it,because I already see it.You don’t care anymore. You don’t love me.That’s okay.I don’t want you either, and I just don’t care.Sorry I only have feelings and thoughtsof care for you.Sorry that I love like a brother, a sister.buts it’s ‘wateva’ right? You want to go talk to all the people I can’t stand, you want to go and chill with everyone you called fake,Okay…it’s ‘wateva’ right? You don’t want to listen but I don’t care, you don’t want me around, you don’t want my advice, because it’s just ‘wateva’ But when you want to come back to me,telling me you need me,I won’t be here.Because I’m tired of playing games, having the pieces fall off the board again and again,so we have to restart.I’m done.I don’t care that I lost. It’s okay because I’m not the one having to jump, from color to color, landing on a blocker and needing to start all over. You’ll know and see how feels when you come back, and I won’t want to listen and I won’t care.Because then I’m going to say its just ‘wateva’ right?

Frederick Douglass

Published by one6 under Uncategorized

Frederick Douglass is know as the father of the Civil Rights Movement.  He was an activist for women’s rights, a journalist, and worked toward freedom for all slaves.  He was brought as a slave but was able to get his freedom. He had taught himself to read and write and devoted his life to  help others. After escaping the slave life he married Anna Murray and joined the abolitionist movement. Later William L. Garrison hired him as a speaker for the Massachusetts Anti-Slavery Society. He then wrote his own paper and called it the North-Star. Douglass died in February 1895 just after a Woman’s Council meeting.  In his life Frederick Douglass was appointed jobs by Abraham Lincoln, Rutherford B. Hayes, James Garfield and Benjamin Harrison as well as others. He dedicated his life to helping others and is remembered for all his great deeds.

press release Many Voices for Darfur

Published by one6 under Uncategorized

Many Voices for Darfur is taking place on Darfur Day, March 6!

Many Voices for Darfur is when everyone who wants to make a difference in Darfur goes on http://manyvoicesdarfur.blogspot.com/ and makes a comment on what their thoughts are.

What we want to do is provide Darfur awareness. There are so many people, men, women, and children dying and we want to help. We want you to help us to. The killings, murders, the neglect and abuse the people suffer is terrible. Right now, we have these blogs especially for awareness on Darfur,

Another way we have decided to raise awareness is by selling wristbands that talk about helping the people of Darfur and all the other facts on how the GENOCIDE started, the history and more.  We believe that this is a very important issue because of the fact that this has been going on for several years.

This conflict started all the way back in 2002/03. It started out as the tribes having problems with what was going on in their government, and reacted. Then the government got the Janjaweed to work for them. The gov. has the Janjaweed go into villages and just attack the people. Now the people of Darfur and also Chad have no form of working help.  The providing of aid stopped and many deaths are also caused by the starvation they go through. Yes, the other nations should care and make a responsibility to help. It is a global responsibility. If one person falls another should help pick them up. I mean if we were in trouble we would want help, so why aren’t doing what we can?

Help create awareness. Buy a wristband, go online and write a comment, read our blogs. It isn’t for us its for the people of Darfur.

Exploding Walls Project

Published by one6 under Uncategorized

What we are doing in class is called the EXPLODING WALLS project. We split up into groups and did research on a topic we wanted to learn about from Mr.Mayo’s list. Its called Exploding Walls because we were able to use Internet and other sources to get our work out and beyond just our teachers in school. It’s liker we opened up our four walls and reached out to places we hadn’t before. Some places were here in the u.s and others were in like England.   I think that it was worthwhile to post the projects online because real people who have the same opinion or are interested on what you have to say can read your work. I do think it motivates us to do well because it proves to people that just because we are in middle school doesn’t mean we don’t care.    Our group from the beginning knew that we needed our own page or blog because we were to create awareness about Darfur. After figuring out who was to look for what data to present, we then decided to make our own blog of the Edublogs since we are obviously familiar with it. To create the blog we used Mr.Mayo’s e-mail just like he did for these and set it up just as if it were for another student. To get the information on Darfur we got on Google and found some good sites that plenty for us to use. For example we hyper  linked: shorecrest. and savedarfur.org and article. In doing this project we did have to follow rules by not saying our full names, giving out personal info., staying on school approved sites and things like that.    My role in the project was to do  the history and the research on the children. My group-mate and I made the History Is Repeating Itself page and I made the The Children of the War page which links to the site where that information came from. All in all I think our project was good and will be an ongoing process.

My Group Part about Darfur

Published by one6 under Uncategorized

Right now my group is doing well. We have the jobs down, we have posts and are working on the way to sell the bands to raise awareness.  I figured that our project ties into Animal Farm by how the people have no say they just have to listen to one controlling body who does whatever they feel. It also ties into Animal Farm because there was a war and whats taking place in Darfur is a war. So that’s how the story and project are similar.

Inside Snowball’s Head

Published by one6 under Uncategorized

Dear Diary,

I have come to the decision that this farm is very stupid. The animals cannot fend for themselves and cannot think for themselves. There are only a few who a really worth anything to me. Either because of their strength or the amount of  brain power they have, which isn’t really much. Napoleon and Squealer are help because they get the animals on my side even if Napoleon is debating against me. Boxer and the other just follow me and do as I say. Most of them are just idiots. They can’t comprehend what I say or write down. They can’t even remember what I have taught them in only one day’s time! It’s actually quite sad how I have to lower myself just to get them understand me. What they need is just one head animal to follow. That should be me since they already obey me enough as it is… since they are incapable of wise thoughts…One day after I can get it all in their heads and they have learned what they need to know, one day I can be at the top! Even over Napoleon and they will have to listen and do as I say. Not as choice like now but as a rule. I wait in joyful pain for that day to come. For Major and what I have learned.

Animal Farm (chapters 3&4)

Published by one6 under Uncategorized

In  and four the animals have gathered others animals from other places and are telling them what they have done. Soon the other animals begin to believe and pratice the same seven commandments. Soon the humans find out that there was a rebellion and come and try to take over the Manor Farm again. That causes war and a few of the animals were killed with only one human.

The pigs run the farm by telling the animals what to do. They made up the seven commandments from what Major has taught them. They make up the rules by having debates and votes. Mainly Snowball and Napoleon do the talking but the others are there. They have also taken the liberty upon themselves to teach the other animals how to read and write.

the Seventh Commandment that the animals have to follow is that all animals are equal. On their Sunday meeting they decide that the pigs should be the only ones who get to have the apples and milk that they have been saving. All the animals are okay with that though because the pigs are the wisest and are leading them. Even though the seventh commandment says all animals are equal placing the pigs in a higher rank and giving them all that the animals worked for isn’t being equal.

Animal Farm (first two chapters)

Published by one6 under Uncategorized

1. Utopia is a perfect place, where nothing is out of order. The farm could be a utopia. If the animals got along they serve their purpose and are living in sync.

2. Snowball is of of the pigs on the farm. He is considered one of the wise pigs because he was taught Major’s (the wisest animal on the farm) teachings. He knew how to read and write with his companion Napoleon. Snowball was good in speech, very inventive and pretty much got his way.

3. The farm is so eager and easily follow the pigs because they were taught by Major. He was the last leader and they don’t know how to fend for themselves. So the only thing they can do is follow the wise, which is Snowball and Napoleon.

Tricks in the Market

Published by one6 under Uncategorized

In the market advertisers use psychologist and people who understand what kids think about to find out how to sell things. The people who know these things are very useful beacuse the advertisers need to know what ids wtach, were they go and things like that so they can place ads around. Also form that they build brand nane loyalty. That is when and how children see and learn to like a certain brand. They see it in their games, toys and things of that nature, and because it has become what they want the most and hopefully as they become teenagers and young adults those trends will stay in mind. It is pretty much one way to ensure companies that they will run a little longer and will be able to make a profit because of all the kids that are already begining to fall into the trap.

Another way people in the market make sure children are going to buy thier product or shop there later in life, is something called “buzz marketing.” The adults will go to the trend setters of a school, community or wherever and pay kids to use whatever they are trying to sell, and hopefully other will follow. Normally, in many cases that is what happens with certain clothes or shoes and things like that, so placing what THEY really want on children helps them out more than we think.

One last way these weird adults try to get their product out is by putting things on the tv, computer, shows and games children play ans see or hear, out there when really it is over rated. Meaning there is a certain age requirment to go and do those things. In some cases some kids get to go and not others. But 70% of advertisments are geared toward children even though those children aren’t allowed (by law) to see those things. Yes, the people in the industties are smart and they do get want they want in return for what they put out there, but is it really a good thing?
